Our free water test takes about 10 minutes and happens right at your sink. A Triple Crown technician runs it while you watch, and it is available nationwide. Here is exactly what it covers, and what it does not.
What the test measures
- Hardness. Calcium and magnesium in your water. Hard water leaves spots on dishes, scale on fixtures, and buildup inside water heaters.
- TDS (total dissolved solids). A count of everything dissolved in your water. High TDS can affect taste.
- Chlorine. Cities add it to kill germs. It works, but it can leave a smell or taste, and it can dry out skin and hair.
- pH. How acidic or basic your water is. Water far from neutral can wear on pipes and fixtures over time.
- Iron. Iron can stain sinks, tubs, and laundry, and it can give water a metallic taste.
What the test cannot detect
Our in-home test does not detect PFAS, lead, or bacteria. No 10-minute test can measure those reliably. They require a certified lab test. If you are concerned about any of them, tell your technician or contact us. We will point you to a certified lab test so you get a real answer instead of a guess.
What happens after the test
Your technician walks you through the numbers on the spot. If your water looks fine, we tell you that and leave it there. If a softener or filter would help, we explain why, based on your results. You decide from there.
